who we are
ARIEL SAADAT
AIA, NCARB, LEED GA | Founding Principal
Ariel Saadat is the founder and principal of Saadat Architects, a Los Angeles–based studio dedicated to timeless, site-responsive residential design. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in History and in the History of Art and Architecture from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and is a USGBC LEED Green Accredited Professional.
Growing up in Los Angeles, Ariel observed the city’s evolving landscape; from quiet neighborhoods of modest Spanish homes to a metropolis defined by layered histories, diverse cultures, and shifting architectural styles. Witnessing this constant change shaped his understanding of how design influences daily life and the character of place.
Ariel’s passion for architecture began in a Master Planning and Hand Drafting class at UC Santa Barbara, where he first discovered the power of design to balance creativity, logic, and craft. Through years of mentorship, collaboration, and persistence, he developed a design philosophy rooted in simplicity, proportion, and honesty of materials. In Spring 2025, Ariel became a licensed architect in the state of California and continues to focus on shaping the future of vernacular residential architecture, creating thoughtful homes that are grounded in their context, enduring in their design, and deeply connected to the people who inhabit them.
